This dataset contains surface meteorology data collected by the NCAR/EOL Integrated Sounding System (ISS) located at the University of Michigan Biological Station (UMBS) in Pellston, MI during the Program for Research on Oxidants: Photochemistry, Emmissions, and Transport (PROPHET) intensive observing period that occurred in the summer of 2001. These data are available in daily netCDF files and have not been quality controlled. All of these data files contain original data, none of which has been checked for quality or in any way reprocessed since recording. The files with both date and time components in the name, e.g. surface_met.20010713.000003.cdf, are original data files. Those with only the date have been concatenated from multiple files for that same day. Usually, multiple files are created on a single day because of system restarts. For this dataset a daily file has been reconstructed for those days from the separate files. Note that the first few days of surface data files here were recorded while the instruments were being setup and adjusted, before the field project officially began.
