Computer Communications With Mauna Loa Solar Observatory
In the spring of 1983, the staff of the MLSO was asked by Mr. Morgan Windsor of NASA to provide new real-time scientific support to rocket experimenters at the White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. The text and illustrations of this Technical Note are an outgrowth of this request and the following training session held for WSMR staff (June 6 to June 8, 1983) by Dr. R. Munro and members of the MLSO. The remote user system was successfully used during the launch operations for Dr. G. Rottman of the University of Colorado in July 1983. It is anticipated that this remote user system will be useful for the support of future rocket and satellite experiments.
