The Turbulent Dynamo: A Translation of a Series of Papers by F. Krause, K.-H Radler, and M. Steenbeck

Abstract

Several papers written by F. Krause, K.H. Radler, and M. Steenbeck in the field of cosmical electrodynamics have been nearly inaccessible or only appeared in the German language. The authors felt that a collection of their most important translated papers might be useful to the field. The translations of fourteen papers are presented here which cover the following topics: the dynamo theory of stellar and planetary magnetic fields, the electrodynamics of conducting fluids in turbulent motion, and the mean field hydrodynamics of turbulent flow.
